Richie and Matt’s Metallic-Themed Gay Summer Wedding at Glastonbury Boathouse

The thing about gay weddings is this: they are STUNNING and the dancefloor always rocks. Richie and Matt’s metallic-themed summer wedding was no exception. The grooms wore white from head to toe, the wedding party glittered in tones of silver and gold, and their guests dressed the part as well.

Also: they also knew how to party. This was such a gorgeous day.

I met Richie and Matt at another client’s wedding (you can see Josh and Blake’s beautiful vineyard wedding here.) They stuck out in my memory for absolutely tearing up the dancefloor (and making great photos for me in the process.) When they reached out, I was excited to see what they’d come up with for their big day.

It was a perfect early September day. The weather warm but not insanely hot, and the sky and water in Glastonbury was that deep blue we all dream about in the gray of winter. The ceremony was held out on the river, cocktail hour was on the balcony, and the reception (which was a riot) was upstairs inside.

With all of the laughter, energy, and gay fabulousness happening among the guests, it was important for Richie and Matt to sneak away for alone time and couples’ portraits. We made use of the green space, docks, and balcony. The grooms were sweet and lighthearted with each other; smiles and touches came easily. They made our job a joy.

Last but not least, the staff at Glastonbury Boathouse was a dream to work with.

And my second photographer Cait may have given some of the most energetic guests a run for their money on the dancefloor. Just maybe.
