This wedding was the culmination of so many odd little happenings, changes, circumstances—destiny setting things in motion. Sounds dramatic, but that’s how I feel about it!
I had the immense honor and pleasure of photographing Terrel and Lindsey’s Connecticut Hawk Ridge Winery wedding because I had connected with Terrel’s sister, wedding planner Regina of Weddings by Regina Marie, soon after I arrived in Connecticut. When she was planning her brother’s wedding after COVID changed their plans for a CA wine country ceremony, I was on her list of potential photographers—and the rest is history!
This tiny, intimate wedding was special for so many reasons. Terrel and Lindsey themselves are absolutely lovely humans, warmly welcoming me into the fray without even having met me before! Their families and close friends were just as kind, and I felt like part of the group from the second I arrived at the hotel.
It was also special because Lindsey was a few months pregnant, and they knew they’d be welcoming a baby boy soon into their marriage.
Finally, their wedding held even more significance because Terrel and Regina’s father was in the end stages of his battle with cancer. The importance of holding this wedding, even in the midst of COVID restrictions, was invaluably important to this family.
Regina and her family have come to mean so much to me since this day. When I say photographing this wedding was an honor, I am not exaggerating. It was one of the biggest joys of my career.
