Priya and Ben’s simple (and classy) outdoor Harkness State Memorial Park wedding radiated the kind of quiet kindness and easygoing spirit I had come to know them for in their chill engagement session the winter before. Their wedding, at the same place but two seasons later, was intimate, elegant, and unfussy in all the best ways.
They had THE perfect weather. Sunny, warm, but with a nice breeze coming off the sound. Their getting ready room was relaxed and unhurried. Their families were warm and kind. No one seemed to be stressed or anxious. Family photos were an easygoing affair, and we all walked down to the ceremony location together and welcomed their guests. Crowd favorite officiant David Lang did his thing, and their ceremony was short and sweet.
Following their couples’ portraits (again, unhurried and tender), we rejoined the party at Eolia Mansion for dinner and dancing. My favorite memories of their wedding have to be the toasts. When people speak from the heart about their friends and families, it feels like a window into something profound and mystical. Also, Local Motion Entertainment did what they do best and curated THE BEST PLAYLIST for the reception. You can’t go wrong when you hire them as your DJ.
Congratulations, you two. Thank you so much for trusting me with your day.
