Michelle and Kate’s queer nighttime couple’s session at Edgerton Park brought my spark back.

Sometimes, in the midst of the craziest wedding season ever, when the world is on fire around you and you’re battling overwhelm and gratitude-laced fatigue, you decide to go out after dark with badass people and play with new gear just for the fun of it. And you wind up creating MAGIC.

Kate and Michelle are just straight-up SEXY. They’re sexy individually, and when you put them together, their chemistry practically ignites. As such, they are SO much fun to photograph. (Sexiness is always fun to take photos of, but it’s even more special when it’s a queer / LGBTQ couple. Our love is so often maligned; it warms my heart to see fellow queer couples bringing this energy to photo shoots.)

Another thing I love about these photos is that Michelle and Kate aren’t twenty, and they’re not a new couple. They have an established life together. They deal with real stuff on a regular basis. And even so, they manage to keep their passion simmering right below the surface. You can FEEL it in these photos.

They’re also super fun, insanely smart and accomplished, and they do a bevvy of cool things.
