It is hard to overstate how meaningful Meghan and Lyann’s summertime wedding at Nuzzo’s Farm was. It was a recipe for making me cry (which definitely happened more than once).
Two beautiful humans who bring out the light in each other. (You can see their foggy, rainbow-inspired engagement shoot here.) A truly EMOTIONAL-FILLED ceremony, during which the two brides and most of their closest family and friends couldn’t keep their happy tears in check. And then a surprise planned by Lyann for Meghan, which led to even MORE tears during the father/daughter dances. Meghan’s beloved dad is gone, and so Lyann planned for her dad–and many of the other important men in Meghan’s life–to step in to dance with Meghan.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was one of the most beautiful father-daughter dances I’ve ever had the privilege of documenting. So, so special and moving.
Finally, their dancefloor was INCREDIBLE. The lights, smoke, and LOVE in the room combined to make some pretty magical dancefloor shots. There’s few things I enjoy more than a packed, energized queer wedding reception, and (to no one’s surprise), Meghan and Lyann’s wedding crew did not disappoint.
This was also my first wedding back after the birth of my baby, who decided to come over a week late and via a truly unexpected emergency C-section. So I wasn’t in as good of shape as I was expected to be, 3.5 weeks out! Thankfully, Meghan and Lyann were the best possible couple to ease me into wedding season, and I had the amazing help and support of my go-to second shooters and friends K Godfrey and Gillian Mattern.
