Jenn and Gina’s wedding was out-of-this-world stunning. It poured all morning and into the afternoon, leaving all of us more than a little concerned that their beautiful outdoor ceremony would have to move under the less-desirable tent. However, Gina was not worried. She had reason to believe that the weather would break before the ceremony started–her story to tell, not mine–and her faith in this belief was so strong that, despite the water literally gushing down around us, I sort of started to believe it too.
Lo and behold–about ten minutes before the ceremony was to start, the sky began to clear. They were able to do their first look outside, as planned, and the staff hurried to get the outdoor spot set up for the guests following the storm. What started as a weather disaster turned, magically, into some of the dreamiest light I’ve had the luck to shoot in–and despite Covid, Jenn and Gina were able to have their dream wedding just as planned.
(Also, I should note that their outdoor, backyard reception later also went off without a hitch DESPITE THE FREAKING TORNADO WARNING that happened right in the middle of it!) I feel so grateful that, despite all kinds of huffing and puffing, the weather cooperated and we are all able to be safe and enjoy this beautiful day.
