I met John, Christie, and their sweet dog Mila at Mount Pollux in Massachusetts for their engagement session. I loved talking to them on the phone, and from our emails leading up to our shoot I knew these two were special.
We met in the parking lot and seriously: Christie came right up, gave me a big hug, and started talking to me like we had been friends forever. I adore people like this. Let’s skip the small talk, the awkward shyness–let’s get right down to being who we are, with each other. Her warmth and realness totally come through in these photos, as do John’s kindness and easy-going nature. The two of them were just so at ease with each other, so open to suggestion…they were adorable with Mila (who frankly could have cared less about the photos), and they were excited to be at such a beautiful spot.
It was a cold day, and the air on the top of that mountain whipped around, making Christie’s hair and scarf fly and bringing tears to our eyes. And yet–they were down. So giving of their time. So sweet with each other. So fun to photograph.
I feel incredibly lucky that I get to spend their wedding capturing more moments like these, and based on who I know these two to be, I’m truly pumped to meet the people lucky enough to call them friends and family.
