Another wonderful pair of humans whose wedding plans were, to put it politely, altered by Covid. They decided to do a small, intimate wedding in lieu of the bigger one they had planned, and chose to use my services the following year (aka 2021) for a styled wedding shoot at various locations significant to their story as a couple. Obviously I loved this idea, and I always love spending time with them (they were one of the first couples I met back in 2018 when I moved here).
Tori and Phil have been through a lot together since their engagement session nearly three years ago, and there is a gravitas to their relationship that perhaps wasn’t there before. But there’s also still Tori’s trademark, sardonic silliness and Phil’s pretend longsuffering restraint, and together they are goofy and sweet and romantic and all the things a photographer like me adores documenting. I appreciate these two humans for their generosity (they reached out to me during the early stages of the pandemic, asking if they could pay off their wedding photography because they assumed my business was suffering) and their ease (driving around town with them felt like driving with longtime friends). I am rooting for these two. They’re wonderful humans. Also, Tori, cheers to finding the very best non-dairy ice cream.
