Melissa and Dan wanted a dark and moody engagement session instead of the more popular golden hour shoot–they were after something glam and dramatic. They wanted to dress up–her in a black princess dress and black stole, him in classic black and white attire, go to their wedding venue (Cedar Brook Farm), deck the place with fairy lights, and create something special.
Challenge, accepted.
I LOVED their styling and pre-planning because it made my job that much more creative and satisfying. Understanding their vision and bringing it to life was SO MUCH FUN. (It didn’t hurt that they’re both fabulous in front of the camera and are super-duper into each other. It also didn’t hurt that apparently neither of them can feel cold. That definitely came in handy on this freezing February night.) Gillian and I had a blast playing around with these two, and we are all obsessed with the photos. Can’t wait for your wedding, guys. You are a DREAM!
