Leah and Kai’s queer elopement at New Haven City Hall was simple and sweet. Kai’s parents joined them in person while Leah’s family observed the short ceremony via Zoom. Afterwards, we took a few photos in and in front of the New Haven City Hall building before Kai’s parents left to finish preparations for their small wedding party.
Once we were alone, the three of us set out on a brief walking tour of New Haven, heading towards Yale for their wedding portraits. Their garb was simple and classic with a twist (note Kai’s awesome tie clip and socks and Leah’s blue space-themed dress), and Leah held a small, classic bouquet of whites, cremes, and blush.
The gothic architecture of Yale’s campus set the backdrop for us, and we had fun mixing serious/romantic with silly and playful. (You can see another serious/playful session I did at Yale here!) We ended on the New Haven lawn before parting ways. This was such a fun way to spend a chilly January day!
