I’m a wedding and portrait photographer obsessed with candid moments, real emotion, and the connections between human beings. I often work with people who don't love being photographed (I'm one of you), and I'm really good at it.
I strive to capture life as we actually live it: full of beauty and imperfection, joy and struggle, big emotions and simple moments.
I'm here for all people, especially those underserved by mainstream photography, including (but not limited to!) queer, LGBTQ, trans, non-binary folks, people in non-normative relationships, people of all abilities, and anyone who doesn’t feel represented by our dominant culture. All of our stories deserve to be told.
Most of us have a lot of anxiety about being photographed. Whether it’s body image, sexual orientation, race, gender identity, ability, etc., we’ve been taught that only some stories are worth being told – and ours might not be one of them. I call bullshit.
I’m queer; my partner is a trans man. We’ve been together since before he transitioned. He and I haven’t been able to take for granted that just any photographer would see and represent us accurately. I know something about what it is to trust a stranger to document something as vulnerable as your love. Your identity. Your self.
I focus on making ALL my clients feel empowered and seen - and on making sure all kinds of people know they will be safe and honored in my presence.
Photography is my soul work. I’m not here for the transaction. I’m here to help you see yourself as an integral part of the tangled, messy, wonderful whole of humanity. I’m here to document your joy, your emotions, and your love.
If you want a kind but take-charge professional who knows how to handle anything you throw at them, I’m for you. And if you’re looking for a photographer who will be a confidante, a resource, a cheerleader, and a friend throughout the process, that’s me. You are not a transaction. You are a human being deserving of care and love, whose story is worthy of being told beautifully.
